BotCon Art Contest Guidelines
Each contest is limited to two entries per person and you must be present to enter.
Restrictions: You must be a registered (Premium+, Premium, and/or Weekend) attendee at BotCon in order to enter a piece in the art contest. You will need to submit a completed Entry Questionnaire with each entry at BotCon. You are encouraged to register your entry prior to BotCon. Late submissions will be accepted pending available space.
Important Dates & Times
- Set up time: Friday, June 13th, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Judging period: Friday through Saturday at noon
- Winners announced: At Awards Night
- Removal time: ENTRIES MUST REMAIN ON DISPLAY UNTIL 1:00 PM ON SUNDAY
Contest Categories
There are four different Art Contest Categories, each with specific requirements:
3-D Custom
Figure/Display
- Space limited to 20″ x 24″
- Must be original work of the entrant
- Two entries maximum per person
- Only one entry can win per category
Prizes:
1st: $50 AgaBucks* + Prize Table Figure
2nd: Prize Table Figure
2-D Art
Computer Generated
- Size between 8″ x 10″ and 20″ x 24″
- Must be mounted (foam board or cardboard)
- Two entries maximum per person
- Only one entry can win per category
Prizes:
1st: $50 AgaBucks* + Prize Table Figure
2nd: Prize Table Figure
2-D Art
Hand Drawn
- Size between 8″ x 10″ and 20″ x 24″
- Must be mounted (foam board or cardboard)
- Includes drawings, paintings, sketches
- Two entries maximum per person
- Only one entry can win per category
Prizes:
1st: $50 AgaBucks* + Prize Table Figure
2nd: Prize Table Figure
Photography
- Size between 8″ x 10″ and 20″ x 24″
- Must be mounted (foam board or cardboard)
- Can include digital or film photography
- Two entries maximum per person
- Only one entry can win per category
Prizes:
1st: $50 AgaBucks* + Prize Table Figure
2nd: Prize Table Figure
Additional Information
- Winners will be awarded AgaBucks that can be spent with any dealer at the show.
- All contests will be judged by a jury of professional artists and convention guests.
- Please do not bring any entries that have won in past convention contests.
- BotCon reserves the right to remove any displays deemed unsuitable for our audience or that have been entered in past contests.
- *”AgaBucks” have no cash value, and must be redeemed by close of the show on Sunday.
